The purpose of the Mentor Program is to assist our Associate Members (newer members), during their process of becoming a productive member of our organization.
Each Associate Member is assigned an Active (veteran) Member. During the season they interact through one on one meetings, phone conversations and during games together. When the process is over it's hoped the Associate Member will have gained the confidence to continue as a productive member of the WNY Certified Officials Association.
A sister program, called the Facilitator program, was established to focus on the first year candidates and their effort to acclimate into our group and to pass the Part II exam. Again a veteran is assigned to a Candidate, but the focus is more on getting through that difficult first year to establish a firm foundation to work through the entire process.
